Looking for an easy dinner that is delicious and filling? Crockpot Chicken & Noodles is the perfect dinner for cool evenings and busy ones for that matter. These chicken and noodles almost remind me of Grandma’s homemade noodles. Not exactly the same, but similar. It is a super easy recipe that only requires 5 ingredients. I originally found this recipe in a post on Facebook. It was a screen shot that one of my friends had shared. I have changed it up some to meet our family needs and to allow for some gravy.
Crockpot Chicken & Noodles Ingredients:
3-4 Chicken Breast (Fresh or Frozen)
2 Cans of Chicken Broth
1 Can of Cream of Chicken Soup
½ Stick of Butter
12oz. Frozen Egg Noodles
How to make Crockpot Chicken & Noodles
You can use frozen or fresh chicken. I like to use chicken tenderloins, only because they are easier to cut with my spoon. I have used chicken breast and that is what the original recipe called for. I use 6 to 8 of the tenderloins and if using chicken breast, I use 3 to 4, depending on size. That is plenty for our family on 4.
First you want to place a half stick of butter in the bottom of the Crockpot. Then pour in one can of chicken broth and one can of cream of chicken soup. I mix this together. Now place your chicken in the Crockpot. Turn the Crockpot on low for about 6 hours.
I usually check it about 4 to 5 hours later. If the chicken is tender enough to cut apart with my spoon, I do that to make smaller bit size pieces. When 6 hours is up, I make sure the chicken is cut up in smaller pieces and add the frozen egg noodles. Cook on low for an additional 2 to 3 hours or until the noodles are cooked to your liking. You will want to stir the chicken n noodles occasionally, so they do not stick.
The noodles will make the mixture thicken up. I love this as gravy on my mashed potatoes! About a half hour before serving, I add another can of chicken broth. If this does not make it thin enough for gravy, I will add some hot water. Make sure to mix it well after adding.
To sped up cooking the chicken and noodles you can cook the chicken on high for about 4 hours and then turn it to low when you add the noodles.
Crockpot chicken & noodles is a delicious dinner! Perfect for cool evenings or when you are running short on time. It’s a meal my family asks for time and time again!
Stay positive, stay motivated, and make today amazing!
With love and encouragement,
